Budget painters cut prep to save a day. We spend that day on purpose — it's why our finishes still look right a decade in. Every job in Jamesburg, Monroe, or Helmetta runs this same checklist.

1. 01

   Power wash & degrease

   Exteriors: a full pressure wash knocks out mildew, pollen, and chalking. Interiors: degrease kitchens and trim so paint actually bonds.

2. 02

   Hand-scrape & feather edges

   Any peeling gets removed by hand and the edges are feathered flush, so you don't see a shadow line under the new coat.

3. 03

   Sand to paint-ready

   Walls, trim, siding, cabinetry — all sanded to the right tooth for the coating system we're applying. No shortcuts with a Swiffer-and-a-prayer.

4. 04

   Caulk every gap

   Window trim, crown, siding joints — sealed with flexible, paintable caulk. This is the single biggest factor in how long exterior work lasts in NJ's freeze-thaw cycle.

5. 05

   Drywall repair & skim

   Cracks, nail pops, doorknob holes, water stains — patched, skimmed, and texture-matched so the repair disappears under paint.

6. 06

   Stain-blocking prime

   Zinsser where it matters — over bare wood, water stains, tannin-bleed, nicotine. Cheap primer is why you can still see the ghost of the old color.

7. 07

   Two full coats, hand-cut

   No one-coat-and-out. Every edge, window frame, and trim line is cut in by hand — no tape shadows, no rolled-over drips.

8. 08

   Walk-through & punch list

   Before we roll out, we walk every room with you, flashlight in hand, and we don't leave until every item on the punch list is closed.
